Pelican Town's Golden Boy

Made during the height of my Stardew Valley “addiction”, I wanted to make someone I could imagine situations with Shane. He’s incredibly self-indulgent, his canon story and personality always shifting and never constant. Whatever I felt at the moment defined who he was.

“You’ll be happy, right?”

He purses his lips. He knows in his heart of hearts that he would not be able to, maybe not for a long, long time. Shane’s absence will leave a hole in his chest that can never truly be filled. He will live his life if only to take care of what Shane had left for him to look after. It is a sad fate he is resigning himself to.

And maybe that is a punishment he wants to give himself, if he can’t physically die so soon. To be stuck in a purgatory of his own making, to live but not really. He briefly thinks this might even be the best outcome for the both of them.

Clyde is not one to lie, but: “Yeah, of course. I promise.”
